Indiana Sportsbooks Gear Up For Daytona 500

Nothing says Valentine’s Day like some Daytona 500 betting action, and Indiana sportsbooks have you covered for the big race.

Love is in the air for NASCAR fans: the Daytona 500 is back.

The 63rd running of the Great American Race will commence at 2:30 p.m. Sunday on FOX, giving race-watchers everywhere a sweet Valentine’s Day gift.

The race favorites are a who’s-who of NASCAR stars, including one going for a historic three-peat.

Who are the Daytona 500 betting favorites?

DraftKings odds, listed below, come as no surprise.

Each of the sport’s top drivers hope to kick off their Cup Series season with a statement win:

  • Denny Hamlin: +700
  • Chase Elliot: +900
  • Ryan Blaney: +1100
  • Brad Keselowski: +1100
  • Joey Logano: +1100

Two prominent names just outside the top five are Kevin Harvick, at +1300, and Kyle Busch, at +1400.

Feel confident someone is going to dominate? DraftKings is offering +650 odds on a racer to win stages one and two, and win the race.

Other props include picking the manufacturer – Chevy +160, Ford +160, Toyota +225 – and the team of the race winner.

Top teams in the latter promo are Hendrick Motorsports, Joe Gibbs Racing, and Team Penske, all at +375.

DraftKings is also offering futures on who will win the Cup Series, led by defending champion Elliot at +550. Behind him are Harvick (+550) and Hamlin (+650).

Hamlin star of DraftKings promo

Denny Hamlin loves Daytona.

Hamlin, the number 11 racer for Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota, will fight this weekend for his third-consecutive Daytona 500 victory and fourth win overall.

Hamlin won the race in 2016, 2019, and 2020, tying him for third all-time. Richard Petty has the most-ever Daytona 500 wins, with seven.

Each of those races has meant something special for Hamlin. But a win in this year’s race “would probably be the most significant win of them all,” he told USA Today.

All of that makes Hamlin an obvious favorite to not only win but finish near the top of the pack.

DraftKings currently has Hamlin with the shortest odds to finish in the top three (+200) and top 10 (-182).

And the sportsbook isn’t missing a chance to make Hamlin the centerpiece of its Daytona 500 promo.

DraftKings is offering its “3’s a Crowd at Daytona” promo, which gives users an odds boost on Hamlin to finish in the top three.

Take advantage of this promo and his odds for a top-three finish rise to +333.

The max bet is $25; opt in and select the boost from your betslip before placing the bet.

FanDuel offers insurance to bettors

Indiana’s second-favorite sportsbook is insuring pre-race bets on who will win the Daytona 500.

Such comfort comes thanks to FanDuel’s Top-Five Finish Insurance.

This means that if your choice to win loses the race but finishes in the top five, you will be refunded up to $50 in site credit. To get started, sign up for a FanDuel account.

FanDuel is known for its insurance promos – most notably same-game parlay offerings – so it’s no surprise the sportsbook has given this deal to the first NASCAR Cup Series race this season.

The promos offered by DraftKings and FanDuel are the first to emerge, but keep a lookout for more from other Indiana online sportsbooks as we get closer to race day.

Keep your eyes peeled until the green flag is dropped.
