Belterra Casino Retail Casino & Sportsbook Review

Belterra Casino Resort and Spa is located in Florence, IN located on the Indiana/Kentucky border. Belterra Sportsbook has a partnership with BetMGM, which entered the Indiana sports betting landscape in early 2020.

Belterra is a riverboat casino on the Ohio River. The casino is on the smaller end at only 47,00 square feet and is owned by Boyd Gaming. Belterra opened in October of 2000 and has a connected hotel with over 300 rooms.

Belterra Casino promotions

Belterra features the B Connected rewards program, so most of its promotions are done through the rewards program. Currently, any new player who signs up for the loyalty program gets a scratch-off ticket that can be worth up to $100,000.

On Wednesdays, Belterra has a buy one, get one free breakfast or dinner for guests 55 and over.

Currently, all new accounts can receive up to a $500 free bet on their first deposit. FanDuel will match your deposit up to $500, and if that bet loses, you will receive the amount of your bet back into your account as a credit.

Parlay insurance: FanDuel will give you back up to $25 if all of your legs of a parlay hit except one. For those of you not familiar with parlays, it is basically a combined card of multiple bets. The parlay can be from two bets to infinite size. The more bets you add, the higher the risk, and therefore, the higher the payout.

For example, say you bet Patriots -200, Vikings +7.5, and Bills +5 for the opening weekend of the NFL playoffs. If everything hit but the Bills, you would get the amount of your parlay wager back up to $25.

If you are a FanDuel daily fantasy player, you know that it is always adding promotions, almost on a daily basis. It has odds boosts, free contests, and lots of other promotions to keep you interested and playing.

Belterra gaming

Belterra Casino Resort is a 24/7 casino, so the action never stops. While it is not the largest casino, it offers plenty to do.

There are slots, table games, a sportsbook, and a poker room.

Table games at Belterra

With only 45 table games, it is surprising how many different games it has. The only problem with this is that it means there are not a lot of tables devoted to the more popular games, meaning it is sometimes hard to get a seat at Blackjack or Let It Ride.

  • Blackjack
  • Axman Blackjack
  • 21+3 Blackjack
  • Double Deck Blackjack
  • Let It Ride
  • Roulette
  • Craps
  • Craps No More
  • Pai Gow Poker
  • Three Card Poker
  • Baccarat
  • Mississippi Stud
  • Carribean Stud
  • Crazy 4 Poker
  • High Card Poker
  • Ultimate Texas Hold ’Em
  • Criss Cross W/Bonus Spin

Poker room

Belterra has $40 single table tournaments, which is a bargain if you want to play tournaments but don’t feel like dropping a lot of money. There are other cash games going on throughout the room, and play starts once enough players have registered, which is sometimes a challenge early in the day.

It isn’t the biggest poker room, but the $40 single table tournaments are good value for poker players on a limited bankroll.

Slots

Belterra features over 1,100 slot machines with all of the favorite games. Denominations range from penny slots up to $100 machines.

There is also video poker and two high-limit slot rooms. Since the casino allows smoking, the non-smoking slot section is a nice touch for those players who want to avoid the smoke.

Some of the popular slots available at Belterra include:

  • Buffalo Diamond
  • Farmville
  • Willy Wonka
  • Monopoly Money
  • Wonder 4 Boost

Sportsbook

The retail sportsbook attracts bettors from Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio. It’s location just across the state line from the Kentucky Speedway certainly helps with that.

The sportsbook opened on Sept. 9, 2019, just in time for the first Monday Night game of the season, but too late for Sunday’s action. There are five betting windows and 16 large TV screens and another wall of TVs to help you keep up on all the sporting action.

There is also a large ticket to track games that are not televised. There is ample seating, but it is limited in size.

BetMGM takes all betting types and just about any game you could think of just like the mobile app.

Entertainment

The property features a spa (Beleza) that offers massages, body treatments, haircuts, and facials. Again, this isn’t something you have to be a gambler to enjoy.

The service is top-notch, and for it being connected to a resort, the prices are pretty fair. Beleza offers specials for people living close to the casino starting at only $35.

There are also three shopping areas inside of the resort. B*Iconic features watches, jewelry, and clothing. Blush is a clothing store for the fashionable. We didn’t spend much time inside as it really isn’t our thing. ETC is basically a gift shop, featuring glasses and other logoed items.

The golf course on property is an 18-hole course designed by Tom Fazio. It consistently ranks as one of the best casino golf courses in the U.S. Prices range from $55 – $100 depending on the time of day.
